Look over the plastic packaging. There are a few types of packing options which range from CD and DVD plastic wrap to pop-apart packaging to plastic packaging that is melted together. The plastic wrap can rip apart like opening a present, though it might need a small cut from scissors to get started. The pop-apart packaging requires nothing more than putting a finger between the two sides of the plastic and pulling them apart. The melted-together plastic is the toughest plastic to open.

Cut the plastic with scissors. Get started by cutting through both layers of plastic. When the blades of the scissors can fit between the layers, slip it in the middle and cut the bottom layer of plastic across.
3
Cut down the side when the scissors reach the other side. Keep between the layers of plastic and move the scissors downward. Cut back across when the scissors reach the bottom.
4
Fold the plastic back and remove the item from the packaging. The plastic packaging is open on three sides for easy removal. If the scissors are not strong enough to cut the plastic, use a utility knife instead.
